I have been quilting since 1997, went to work for The Cotton Patch in Lafayette, CA, started teaching quilt classes in 1999. I retired from education four + years ago. I work at the shop to support my habit-in other words, "I'm an indentured servant." I enjoy both contemporary and traditional quilts. I like bold colors in quilts and soft colors. I don't have a favorite color making me a true Gemini. I would find it frustrating to work in just one color. I couldn't make a black and white bargello. I had to sneak color in from a distance the fabric looked black and white and up close was a surprise you hardly noticed it wasn't. That's what a truly good quilt will do is draw you closer to inspect it. I went to a quilt show today and my fav was a quilt with a Crane and a very frightened frog about to be lunch in a beautiful pond of water lilies. I'm not sure I took a picture of it as I was so engrossed in the beauty of the quilt. My other passion is reading. I will bore you with grandson photos and cat stories, my boys and their wives, and my husband. What else do you have to talk about when you are retired. I certainly don't want to hear about your aches and pains and I don't want to hear me tell you about mine. When you get old it isn't for sissy's and I don't know what is so golden about it either. Looking forward to meeting all of you either on the web or in person. I know we are going to make beautiful quilts.
