Lynda Heines

Southern Indiana

I have spent the past 15 years designing fabric for my art using a wide range of surface design techniques. In 2011, I developed the popular ice dyeing method and later shared it through my online class Icy Delights, which I have since made freely available on my YouTube channel. In addition to dyeing, I explore sun printing, marbling, stamping, botanical printing, resists, discharge, and monoprinting to create unique fabric designs. My work has been featured in Quilting Arts, including the magazine’s first tutorial on ice dyeing in 2011. Recently, I have combined her love of fabric art with my passion for genealogy, sharing this intersection in a Substack presentation titled Cloth Stories. I offer fabric surface design tutorials on my blog (lyndaheines.com) and share my genealogy and personal essay journey at Heines Sight (https://lyndaheines.substack.com/). I live with my husband, Dave, and our two cats on Happy Acres, our little piece of paradise in Newburgh, Indiana.
