Michael Rastiello

Michael Rastiello has spent the greater part of his life in Dover, New Jersey, a place that has provided both stability and meaning throughout the years. Although he moved to Florida in 2021, he returned to New Jersey in 2023. The decision to return was rooted in a desire to be close to family and to reconnect with a community that had long been an integral part of his everyday life. At 66 years old, he remains devoted to his wife of 44 years, his three children, and four grandchildren who continue to shape his priorities and his sense of purpose. A consistent theme throughout his life has been discipline—an approach that has defined how he takes care of himself, how he works, and how he contributes to others. His long-standing commitment to health and fitness has remained steady, not for attention but because it is how he believes a life should be lived—with focus, effort, and routine. These same values were carried into his decades of coaching, where he prioritized showing up, guiding others, and building resilience in young athletes. His academic background includes time at Kennedy Western University and the Academy of Advanced Transportation. These experiences provided him with a starting point, but the true depth of his learning emerged through practical application. Decades of hands-on work in logistics allowed him to understand the complexities of the industry and to lead with knowledge built from real experience rather than theory alone. Professionally, he dedicated more than thirty years to logistics, including a 24-year tenure as Director of Logistics and Transportation at Casio America. In this position, he was responsible for overseeing global freight operations and leading transportation teams through day-to-day demands and long-term goals. His leadership style was grounded and consistent, earning him the trust of his team and the recognition of his peers. He was honored as Employee of the Year in both 2005 and 2009, a testament to his reliability and the consistent results he delivered. Outside the workplace, he spent over three decades giving back to his community through coaching and mentoring. He led the Rockaway Township Football Program for more than 20 years and coached youth and high school football for 34 years. He also coached softball for 10 years and baseball for five. While his teams experienced notable success—including championship titles and undefeated seasons—his focus was never on the scoreboard. His goal was to help young athletes develop confidence, discipline, and teamwork, values that would benefit them long after the game ended. His long-term service in youth athletics was recognized with a nomination to the Morris County Youth Football Hall of Fame and a proclamation from the Mayor of Rockaway Township. These honors were a response to years of quiet dedication and meaningful impact, not to public promotion or self-interest. Now in retirement, he continues to live by the same principles that have guided him throughout his life. He supports organizations like the ASPCA and St. Jude Children’s Hospital, choosing to give in ways that reflect his values—quietly, sincerely, and without expectation. Retirement has become an opportunity for him to focus more on family, maintain his active lifestyle, and support causes that matter deeply to him. He has never sought visibility or status. His path has been one of consistently showing up, leading by example, and doing the work without needing recognition. Whether managing logistics or mentoring young athletes, he remained steady, dependable, and rooted in purpose.
