I am currently the CEO of VAST; I have been working within the VCS since 1993, with past 14 years as a Chief Officer. I am currently a Board member and the treasurer of NAVCA. In 2008 I was appointed by the minister for local government Rt. Hon John Denham MP on the Transition Board to oversee improvements in Stoke City Council. Locally I was instrumental in setting up and developing both Staffordshire Community Foundation and the Staffordshire Credit Union. I have previously worked in the private sector as a finance manager and served as the Field Operations Manager for Bosnia Aid Committee, coordinating aid deliveries during the Bosnia civil war; as Chief Officer of KYP in Rochdale; and Voluntary Action Calderdale where I was instrumental in the development of the Community Resource Centre. In recognition of my contribution to the VCS I was granted an MBE in the Queens Birthday honours in 2010.
